Kingside attack puzzles

151 kingside attack puzzles from real games, rated 568 to 2655. Here are 18, from easiest to hardest.

These puzzles come from attacks on a king castled on the kingside. The winning idea usually breaks open the pawn cover around g7 or g2 and h7 or h2 with a sacrifice, then brings the queen and rook in.

Classic patterns appear again and again here: the bishop sacrifice on h7, the rook lift, the queen and knight combining near the king. Seeing them in puzzles makes them easier to find over the board.

How to solve them: Count attackers against defenders around the king. When you have more pieces aimed at it than your opponent can bring to defend, look for the sacrifice that opens it.
