Analysis board
A free chess analysis board
Paste a FEN or a whole PGN, or simply make moves on the board, and Stockfish 19 analyses the position as you go. The engine runs on your own device as WebAssembly, so analysis is free, unlimited and needs no account.
What you see
- An evaluation bar and the engine's three best lines, updated as the search goes deeper.
- The name of the opening you are in, from a catalogue of named lines, and the named moves that follow.
- A move list you can step through, try new moves from at any point, and copy as PGN.
- A coach that explains the engine's idea in plain words, checked against the position so it only states what is on the board.
Reading the evaluation
Scores are in pawns from White's point of view: +1.0 means White is about a pawn better, −0.5 means Black is slightly better, and #3 means White has a forced mate in three (#-3 means Black does). Small numbers in the opening are normal; what matters is how the score changes after a move.
